Authentic engagement is an essential part of our values and how we do business. It is integrated across our operations, including project-specific engagement and relationship building. We seek partners who share our values and standards of conduct, while at the same time respect and encourage a diversity of perspectives.
When we engage with groups, our first steps are to understand who the group is and how they would like to engage with us. As a result, we engage in a variety of ways depending on what makes sense. The key is to tailor our approach to the needs of our stakeholders and respect their unique circumstances. Throughout our report, you will find different examples of how stakeholder engagement is embedded in each of our material topics. The table below shows some examples of how engagement can look very different depending on what tools are most effective and efficient.
Another example of engagement occurred in 2020 when we assessed our Sustainability material topics. By conducting interviews and constructive conversations with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, we were able to refresh our sustainability reporting priorities to ensure stakeholder needs were being met.
